Seki Team Intro
As our company places a high value on educating the public on the importance of
river and lake ecosystems, we have devised a novel type of social networking service
(SNS) that provides an answer to the question:
Which river does your tap water, that nourishes your life, come from?
In order to bring the SNS to life, our company is developing a database relying on
GIS that would show the name of the river, from which a user’s tap water is supplied,
in the self-description part, as a way of reference to his or her place of residence.
We are trying to obtain the following types of data regarding
(1)water suppliers’ water supply areas, (2)administrative boundaries and (3)river basin boundaries
on theglobal scale:
・GIS data, including polygon/ point data (e.g. .shp file)
・Text files (e.g. PDF)
・Text data offered on web sites
